Marseille predicted XI v Rennes: Ethan Nwaneri to start
Two of Olympique de Marseille’s January signings are set to start when they take on Stade Rennais in the Coupe de France on Tuesday night.
Ethan Nwaneri is expected to start in the No.10 position. There is less competition in that role since the departures of Angel Gomes and Matt O’Riley, both of whom departed in the final hours of the transfer window.
Another January signing, Quinten Timber, is also expected to start, alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the midfield pivot. However, there is no place for Himad Abdelli or Tochukwu Nnadi, both of whom arrived at Marseille on deadline day but who haven’t been registered in time.
Michael Murillo, meanwhile, has been sent to the reserves and will not be involved against Rennes.
