Born in Krumbach, he did not enjoy a long professional career and entered the managerial sphere in 2007 by taking charge of FC Augsburg’s reserve team. His next assignment was with FSV Mainz 05, a job that put him on the map.

However, Tuchel rose in prominence during his spell with Borussia Dortmund before enjoying trophy-laden success with Paris Saint-Germain.
