Liverpool eyeing €150 million move for Desire Doue
Liverpool are plotting an audacious bid for PSG star Desire Doue in the region of €150 million to replace Mohamed Salah.
According to Fichajes, Liverpool have set their sights on an audacious move for Desire Doue as they look to replace Mohamed Salah. The Merseysiders are reportedly plotting a €150 million offer to test PSG’s resolve on the French attacker, although there are doubts about whether they will succeed.
Mohamed Salah has created quite a stir in the corridors of Liverpool following his comments after the Leeds United draw. The Egyptian superstar accused the club of scapegoating him for the team’s bad performances this season, and insisted that someone at the club wanted him gone.
Salah also stated his relationship with manager Arne Slot has broken down, and stated the club are throwing him under the bus. The interview in the mixed zone has opened a new can of worms, which has divided the Liverpool fan base on whom to support, as some are on Salah’s side while others are backing the club to do the right thing.
Either way, there are significant doubts over Salah’s immediate future as he has also been dropped for the Inter Milan game this week. The Brighton clash at the weekend could be his last in a Liverpool shirt if he angles a January move, as Al-Hilal are among those interested, as the Egyptian will be departing for the AFCON after the weekend.
Liverpool are already looking at many options in the market as his long-term replacement, with Anthony Gordon mentioned as a target, and so is Yankuba Minteh. A new name has surfaced in that regard, as Desire Doue is emerging as a key target for the Reds as they eye the 20-year-old as Salah’s replacement.
Liverpool to make Desire Doue bid?
Liverpool are reportedly planning an audacious €150 million bid to sign Doue and view the 20-year-old as Salah’s replacement. The financial aspect of the proposed offer could truly test PSG’s resolve on their winger, although the Parisians are in no mood to let him leave.
PSG want to renew Doue’s deal after the attacker’s impressive displays under Luis Enrique, who helped them win the treble last season. The chances of Liverpool signing the 20-year-old may appear remote at this stage, as PSG are unlikely to part ways with one of their main attackers.
