Jurgen Klopp committed to Red Bull role amid Liverpool links
Jurgen Klopp is reportedly committed to his current role with the Red Bull Group amid his links with Liverpool, with a reunion not on the cards.
According to a report by Sam Wallace on the Daily Telegraph, Jurgen Klopp will not return to Liverpool anytime soon. While the German tactician recently suggested that it was “theoretically” possible that he may rejoin the Merseyside club, he remains committed to his current role with the Red Bull Group. Additionally, Liverpool may not go back to Klopp either, despite the mounting pressure on Arne Slot.
A brief look at Jurgen Klopp’s career so far
Jurgen Klopp is one of the most legendary managers of his generation, even though he has not won dozens of trophies. However, his impact at the club level goes beyond the numbers, given the droughts he ended at his various teams. He ensured stability at FSV Mainz 05 before guiding Borussia Dortmund to three trophies, including successive Bundesliga titles at the expense of the mighty Bayern Munich.
However, Klopp’s stock skyrocketed during his spell with Liverpool, with the Merseyside outfit winning several trophies under his guidance. The 58-year-old ended Liverpool’s decades long wait for the elusive Premier League title, with the Reds also winning the UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, and EFL Cup during his tenure.
The German tactician called time on his legendary stint with Liverpool last year, and he has been with the Red Bull Group as Head of Global Soccer for the past few months. However, with Arne Slot enduring the dreaded “second season syndrome” at the Merseyside club, widespread reports have suggested that the Premier League champions may turn their attention towards Klopp.
Will Klopp return to Liverpool?
Dietmar Hamann, the former Liverpool and Manchester City midfielder, has also recently suggested that the Reds may already have been in contact with Jurgen Klopp. The links make sense, even though Klopp revealed his fatigue when he called time on his illustrious stint with Liverpool.
The former Borussia Dortmund manager knows what it takes to ensure stability at the Merseyside club, even when the chips are down. So, with Arne Slot under mounting pressure at Anfield, it will not be surprising to see Liverpool asking Klopp to come back. However, that will not happen, with the Premier League champions closing the Klopp chapter.
Additionally, the 58-year-old is committed to his current role with the Red Bull Group, even though he recently suggested that it was “theoretically” possible for him to return to Anfield. So, the German tactician is unlikely to rejoin Liverpool anytime soon despite the recent links.
