Bayern Munich ‘think’ Dayot Upamecano will extend contract
Dayot Upamecano’s (27) future is still up in the air, but Bayern Munich are now confident of retaining the France international.
The Frenchman’s contract at Bayern Munich expires at the end of the season, and whilst the Bundesliga champions are intent on extending his deal, as confirmed by Max Eberl, there is a chance that the France international will leave on a free transfer. He can sign a pre-contract agreement with another club from January.
Real Madrid are one of the defender’s high-profile suitors. Foot Mercato even went so far as to report a verbal agreement being in place between Upamecano and the La Liga side. However, they may face competition from PSG, who are in the market for a defender.
But despite the intense interest in acquiring the France international’s services, there is now optimism in Bavaria. Bayern Munich executive Uli Hoeneß has told Sky Sports Germany that he “thinks” that Upamecano will extend his deal.
