Valentino Livramento calm on future amid Manchester City links, City may have ace up their sleeves

Valentino Livramento is calm over his future amid heavy interest from Manchester City and Newcastle United’s desire to hand him a new deal.

According to TEAMtalk, Valentino Livramento is currently relaxed about his future, amid heavy talk of Manchester City’s interest. The versatile defender is happy with life at Newcastle United at the moment, but Pep Guardiola’s side could angle for a move, and they might have an ace up their sleeves in the chase.

Valentino Livramento is probably one of the most important players for Newcastle United at present. His absence from the team coincided with the Magpies underperforming, but their fortunes have changed in a big way ever since he made his return.

Eddie Howe knows the importance of the Newcastle United wide man, and he has been keen for the club to find a solution to the youngster’s future. Newcastle United are confident of agreeing a new deal with Livramento, but that prospect could be challenging owing to the level of interest the defender continues to attract.

Valentino Livramento is currently happy with life at St. James’ Park, and with a contract there until 2028, the Magpies are also not overly rushing towards any decision. Manchester City were ramping up efforts to sign the youngster back in the summer, but there were obvious challenges in tying up any deal for the Newcastle United wide man.

However, it appears Manchester City will not hesitate to sign Livramento in whichever way possible, even if they have to pay a top price. Such is the impact the player has had on Guardiola, who has been looking for a top draw replacement for Kyle Walker.

Manchester City’s ace up their sleeve

Manchester City could pay a top price for Valentino Livramento if need be, but they may have an ace up their sleeves in their pursuit of the Newcastle United wide man. The Magpies are interested in James Trafford, as they lost out to Manchester City in the race for the keeper back in the summer.

Trafford only enjoyed life at the Etihad as their No.1 for a brief period before the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma. Manchester City could sell Trafford as he seeks regular game time, as Newcastle United could revive their interest. Hence, Guardiola’s side could potentially think about using the keeper as part of any deal to sign Livramento, which could be a bold and smart move at the same time.
