Liverpool and Manchester United learn Vinicius Junior price tag
Liverpool and Manchester United could sign Real Madrid attacking mainstay Vinicius Junior for around £80 million next summer.
Vinicius Junior’s future has become a massive talking point as the Brazilian international’s contract at Real Madrid is running down, and on top of that, he doesn’t have the best of relationships with manager Xabi Alonso.
The 25-year-old could look for a move away from the Spanish giants next summer. Liverpool and Manchester United have emerged as potential destinations for Vinicius, and according to a report from Football Insider, the Premier League giants will have to fork out around £80 million to secure his services, even though he will only have a year left on his deal.
Vinicius has only gone from strength to strength since joining Los Blancos back in 2018. Not only has he established himself as one of their mainstays, but he is also widely regarded as one of the best forwards in the world.
Vinicius and Alonso’s tense relationship
While he was a regular starter under Carlo Ancelotti, a lot has changed under Xabi Alonso. Vinicius has often found himself on the bench and has been subbed out in big games. The 25-year-old isn’t pleased with his role in the team and has started considering his future.
His current deal with Real Madrid runs out in 2027. With only 18 months left on his contract, the team in white have been pushing hard to secure his future. While they have been in negotiations with his camp for some time, the Spanish giants are yet to make any major breakthrough, and recent reports suggest those talks have reached a standstill.
Real Madrid don’t seem to be willing to meet his wage demands, and given his relationship with Alonso, Vinicius isn’t ready to sign a new deal. If they fail to secure his future before the end of the season, Los Blancos could look to cash in on him, as they wouldn’t want to lose him for free.
Vinicius could be heading to the Premier League
While he would still cost around £80 million, clubs like Manchester United and Liverpool could look to make the most out of it. Both clubs are keeping tabs on his situation and would love to sign one of the best attackers in the world.
He could become the central figure of the project at United under Ruben Amorim. Meanwhile, the Reds see him as an option to significantly bolster their left flank, as they have not been able to successfully replace Luis Diaz despite spending a fortune on reinforcing their attack in the summer.
