Real Madrid risk losing Chema Andres battle, as Arsenal, Manchester City enter chase

Real Madrid could be at risk of losing their grip on Stuttgart midfielder Chema Andres as Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester City circle.

According to Fichajes, Real Madrid may have to decide on Chema Andres’ future next year in a bid to secure the midfielder’s signature. Premier League giants Manchester City and Arsenal have entered the race for the 20-year-old Bundesliga midfielder, with Stuttgart likely to prefer a sale elsewhere rather than see the young star return to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid have been extremely smart with some of their rising talents from the academy ranks. While they have let some of their emerging stars leave the club, the Spanish giants have included clauses that allow them total control over their long-term future.

Nico Paz is a clear example of that, as they allowed him to join Italian minnows Como, but a series of buy-back and sell-on clauses gives them total control over his future. The Argentine talent has already reached a massive valuation in the market, but Real Madrid can potentially sign him for a paltry sum in each of the next two summer windows.

They have deployed a similar strategy with the sale of Chema Andres, with Real Madrid being able to sign him for €13.5 million next summer and €18 million in 2027. Stuttgart are hoping the 20-year-old Bundesliga midfielder spends many of the upcoming years at the club, but should Real Madrid exercise their buy-back clause, they will be powerless in retaining the midfielder.

As things stand, Real Madrid are undecided on whether they want to bring him back to the club, as there’s a big risk of losing their grip on the midfielder’s future. They only have two windows to exercise their buy-back clause, and should they decide against it, a few Premier League giants could swoop in.

Arsenal and Manchester City remain interested

Arsenal and Manchester City have monitored Andres’ performances at Stuttgart and feel the 20-year-old Bundesliga midfielder is perfect for their possession-based system. The Gunners are already linked with Javi Guerra, another one of the rising Spanish midfield stars, while Pep Guardiola also likes the idea of having a young star to build for the future.

Arsenal and Manchester City are ready to test the waters next summer with offers higher than Real Madrid’s reported buy-back clause. That could put Andres’ future in Stuttgart at risk, although Real Madrid hold all the cards as things stand, and those Premier League suitors must go through the Spanish giants if at all they want to get a deal in place.
