Tim Kleindienst officially rejoins Borussia Mönchengladbach training
Borussia Mönchengladbach captain and German national team striker Tim Kleindienst’s comeback from injury is nearing. The 30-year-old officially rejoined Gladbach training on Monday. When Kleindienst can be expected back on the Bundesliga pitch still remains unclear.
Gladbach have staked quite a bit on Kleindienst since meniscus surgery sidelined the team’s lead striker over six months ago. Whilst injured, Kleindienst has been anointed both club captain and received a contract extension.
Gladbach’s fortunes are rising despite a major administrative upheaval that saw the club lose both head coach Gerardo Seoane and sporting director Roland Virkus earlier this year. Interim head coach Eugen Polanski has led the team to three straight victories on-the-trot.
Polanski’s recent successes will most likely lead to him earning a permanent appointment soon. Polanski also has no real reason to rush Kleindienst back into the squad as replacement forward Haris Tabakovic is finally hitting his stride.
Tabakovic has scored four goals in the last three victories. The nature of Kliendienst’s injury led to the club ruling him out through the end of the current month this past summer. Kleindienst will also not have an opportunity to represent the German national team until March.
