VfL Wolfsburg eyeing winter move for Niclas Fullkrug; Juventus, AC Milan also in race

Bundesliga bottom-half club VfL Wolfsburg are angling for West Ham misfit Niclas Fullkrug, while AC Milan and Juventus are also keen.

According to Ekrem Konur, Niclas Fullkrug could have some key options to explore in the January transfer window as the German forward could leave West Ham United soon. Bundesliga bottom-half side Wolfsburg are keen to sign him, while AC Milan and Juventus are also ready to explore a move.

Niclas Fullkrug arrived at West Ham United last summer with plenty of promise to solve a problematic area in the team. The experienced striker was a clinical presence for Borussia Dortmund during his time there, as the Hammers fanbase thought he could be a good short-to-medium-term solution for the side eager to grow in stature.

West Ham paid £27 million for the experienced forward with the hope of using his physicality and goalscoring prowess in the Premier League. Fullkrug experienced an injury-hit first season where he scored three goals in 18 league appearances, and has followed that up with no goals in six games so far this term.

Niclas Fullkrug is ready to explore a January exit as things are not working out for the £27 million West Ham misfit, with the forward already attracting interest from elsewhere. Wolfsburg are keen to explore a move for the attacker in a bid to improve their own status in the Bundesliga and get out of the bottom-half position they currently hold.

The idea of joining the Bundesliga side could be an interesting choice for Fullkrug, which could reinvigorate his chances of making it to the German squad for the World Cup. The West Ham misfit is currently underperforming in the Premier League, and the Hammers are already looking at new striker options such as Joshua Zirkzee, with the Dutchman ready to leave Manchester United.

AC Milan and Juventus keen to explore Niclas Fullkrug deal

West Ham are also looking at Endrick as a potential option, although any move for a new forward might probably depend on Fullkrug’s exit. The German striker not only has Wolfsburg as an option, as AC Milan and Juventus are also exploring a move. The two Serie A giants are in need of bolstering their attacking options in January.

Juventus are faced with a decision on Dusan Vlahovic, who incidentally is being linked with West Ham among others. AC Milan are not sure about their current striker options, and Massimiliano Allegri might view Niclas Fullkrug’s experience and profile as a good fit for his system, with two forwards. Hence, VfL Wolfsburg might face a big challenge in luring the German striker, given he could potentially have two big Italian teams on his trail.
