Official | Aurélien Tchouaméni out of contention for France after sustaining muscle injury

France international midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni (25) won’t be called up by national team manager Didier Deschamps this afternoon as the Girondins de Bordeaux Academy graduate has sustained a muscle injury during Real Madrid’s Champions League away defeat to Liverpool on Tuesday. Real Madrid released a statement saying that medical exams revealed a semitendinosus muscle in Tchouaméni’s left leg.

Tchouaméni was expected to get the call from Didier Deschamps this afternoon after missing out on the October international break entirely. The France international midfielder was given a two-game suspension by UEFA after being given a red card during Les Bleus‘ slander 2-1 home win against Iceland in their campaign to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

Fabrizio Romano estimates that Tchouaméni will be sidelined until early December.
