Roma Weigh Their Options as Dybala and Bailey Get Hurt Again

Paulo Dybala and Leon Bailey suffered their second thigh injuries of the season, which could affect the negotiation between the former and Roma for a new contract and especially the club’s plans for January.

According to Sky, La Joya will miss about a month due to a medium-grade strain of his left biceps femoris. He will be a late call for the clash with Napoli on November 30th. The Giallorossi won three out of four matches during his previous spell on the sidelines.

According to Matteo Moretto (via Tribuna), Roma are very keen on Joshua Zirkzee to add depth in light of Dybala and Bailey’s injury woes. However, Manchester United have yet to decide what to do with the Dutch striker in January. He’d like to return to Serie A, but he’ll draw many proposals if he’s available.

The Giallorossi are keeping tabs on two youngsters, Koln’s Said El Mala and Racing Santander’s Jeramy Arevalo. The former has logged four goals and two assists in nine games in his maiden Bundesliga season. The latter, who’s a purer marksman, has hit the net seven times in La Liga 2. His family has already met the capital club’s officials and learn about their project. He has a €7M release clause.

Our Take on the Roma Attack and Dybala

They had done their homework and would be equipped to replace him adequately if he was playing in his usual role, but they couldn’t have imagined he would end up being their primary no.9. The next few games will be telling, as they will seal Artem Dovbyk’s fate one way or the other. They probably wouldn’t be able to lure a high-profile center-forward without offloading him.
