Marseille predicted XI v Atalanta: Roberto De Zerbi’s side remain mired in injury crisis
Olympique de Marseille will be without seven injured first-teamers when they host Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.
Leonardo Balerdi, the club captain, has yet to recover from a minor injury. He is joined by compatriot Facundo Medina, Timothy Weah, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Bilal Nadir, Hamed Junior Traoré, and Amine Gouiri. In Marseille’s last UCL game, a narrow defeat to Sporting CP, Emerson was sent off. The Italy international therefore misses this game through suspension, limiting Roberto De Zerbi’s options in defence.
OM are expected to go with a back three consisting of Nayef Aguerd, CJ Egan-Riley, and Benjamin Pavard, while Ulisses Garcia, who had been playing a peripheral role, comes in at left-wing-back, with Michael Murillo coming in on the opposite side.
