Liverpool, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich could offer lucrative contract to Nico Schlotterbeck
Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich could offer €14 million-a-year deal to lure Nico Schlotterbeck away from Borussia Dortmund.
According to Bild via SportWitness, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are all trying to sign Borussia Dortmund’s defensive mainstay, Nico Schlotterbeck, with a lucrative contract offer. With his current deal running down, all three European giants could end up making a move for him in 2026.
After making a name for himself at SC Freiburg, Schlotterbeck joined Dortmund in the summer of 2022, and he has only gone from strength to strength since. Not only has he established himself as one of their mainstays, but he is also widely regarded as one of the best defenders in Germany.
Schlotterbeck could leave Dortmund in 2026
The 25-year-old centre-back’s consistent performances for Dortmund have put him on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in the world. With only 18 months left on his deal, clubs are gearing up to make a move for him.
The German outfit are reluctant to let go of one of their best players, and they have been working on a potential renewal for some time. However, it seems they are unlikely to agree on fresh terms with the German international.
Schlotterbeck has already turned down an initial offer worth €8 million plus bonuses. The biggest problem for Dortmund is that the 25-year-old is aware that Niklas Sule earns €14 million annually, and he is also looking for something similar.
European giants will try to lure Schlotterbeck
The German outfit will struggle to meet his demands, and they are already worried about the increasing interest in his services. Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Liverpool are all keen on signing the young centre-back.
With Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba’s contracts running out at the end of the season, Schlotterbeck could help them replace them at the Santiago Bernabeu. Meanwhile, Liverpool are also looking to prepare for life without Ibrahima Konate, while Bayern are looking for someone to replace Dayot Upamecano.
All three clubs are keen on Schlotterbeck’s signature, and they can offer him wages of around €14 million per year plus bonuses. They will also provide him with a better opportunity to win major silverware. As a result, Dortmund will certainly struggle to keep hold of him for long.
