Real Madrid join Manchester City in race to sign Dudu

Real Madrid are in the mix for Palmeiras’s 15-year-old sensation Dudu, with Manchester City also interested in the youngster.

According to Defensa Central, Palmeiras’s 15-year-old sensation Dudu is attracting plenty of attention from some of the top clubs from across the Atlantic ahead of a future move. The young winger is being courted by Real Madrid and Manchester City, with those teams keen to explore a move very early in his career.

Dudu, the 15-year-old rising star from Palmeiras’s youth setup, is creating plenty of waves in Brazil. The young attacker, who plays as a left-winger, has already been compared to recent Chelsea arrival Estevao Willian, and has also drawn comparisons with other more prominent stars coming out of Brazil.

As his reputation continues to soar, despite not being a fixture in Palmeiras’s first team yet, there is every chance that some of the big hitters from Europe come in early for his signature. FIFA laws prohibit players from moving to a club abroad until they turn 18, but that has not dissuaded European clubs previously.

For instance, Real Madrid made a big statement a few years back when they tied up a massive deal for Endrick. While that move has not particularly worked out with the young attacker already linked with a move away, the Spanish giants are prepared to take another risk of the same kind with Dudu.

Real Madrid are keen to explore an early move and find an agreement now, and bring the player when he turns 18 in a few years. They are probably the most attractive club in this race, even for the player, as the Spanish giants are historically a dream for most South American players, as seen in the summer when they signed Franco Mastantuono from River Plate.

Manchester City to rival Real Madrid

Real Madrid are not alone in the mix for the 15-year-old Brazilian wonderkid, as Manchester City are also angling a move for Dudu. The Premier League giants have been very active in the youth markets over the last many years, and could make their presence felt with a good offer to tempt the player.

The big problem for either of those teams could be the price point that Palmeiras could demand. The 15-year-old Brazilian wonderkid could be handed a new contract as soon as he turns 16, which could potentially have a release clause of around €100 million, which could spell trouble for his European suitors.
