Barcelona rival PSG in Victor Osimhen chase
Barcelona will reportedly compete with Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign 26-year-old Nigerian international Victor Osimhen from Galatasaray next year.
According to a report by Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Victor Osimhen is the subject of interest of Barcelona. The reigning La Liga champions are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a striker next year. So, the 26-year-old Galatasaray centre-forward has emerged as a target for the Blaugrana.
However, the Catalan giants are not alone in the race to sign the African attacker, as he is also a target for Paris Saint-Germain. Meanwhile, a deal may be a tall order for Barcelona, as even when talks between the parties begin, “financial constaints limit big moves” for them.
Victor Osimhen and the latest move of his career
Victor Osimhen has been exceptional since joining Galatasaray from Napoli. The 26-year-old moved to Turkiye last year after run-ins behind the scenes at the Serie A club. Cimbom signed him on loan in September 2024 before completing a permanent move 12 months later.
The 44-cap Nigerian international was exceptional in his debut season, and he has chipped in with six goals in nine appearances thus far in the 2025/26 campaign. Meanwhile, Osimhen’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs. Barcelona and PSG will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature next year.
A man in demand
Barcelona’s interest in Victor Osimhen makes sense. The reigning La Liga champions are combing the market for a striker ahead of next summer’s transfer window, as Robert Lewandowski faces an uncertain future at the club. The veteran Polish striker is in the twilight of his career, compelling Barcelona to begin planning for life after him. Several candidates, including Karl Etta Eyong, have thus emerged on their radar, with Osimhen also a viable target.
As for PSG, Osimhen has been a target for the Ligue 1 outfit for a long time. The continued interest is understandable, as Goncalo Ramos faces an uncertain future at Parc des Princes. So, the 26-year-old Galatasaray striker is an option worth considering.
Meanwhile, a move for Osimhen may be a tall order for Barcelona due to the financial issues that have plagued the Catalan outfit for several years. So, PSG may have the advantage in the race to sign the 44-cap Nigerian international.
