OGC Nice’s Jonathan Clauss set for period on sideline

It has been a hectic couple of months for Jonathan Clauss, who saw a prospective move to Bayer Leverkusen fall through, before then being reintegrated into the first-team set-up, and now sustaining an injury.

Since returning for Le Gym, Clauss has yet to display the levels that helped guide his side to UEFA Champions League qualification last season, however, the France international has remained a key member of Franck Haise’s side, given the importance of wing-backs in his system.

However, the OGC Nice defender may now miss several weeks of action after sustaining a knee injury during the 2-1 win over Stade Rennais over the weekend. L’Équipe understands that the issue is similar to the one that he sustained while playing for Olympique de Marseille, which did sideline him for several weeks.

However, there was some good news. Mohamed-Ali Cho pulled out of the warm-up ahead of Sunday’s match. However, he has not sustained an adudctor injury, as was feared. He could be available to face Lille OSC on Wednesday.
