Luka Vuskovic opens up about future Real Madrid transfer
Luka Vuskovic only has big admiration for Real Madrid and insisted it would be an honour to play for the Spanish giants one day.
Luka Vuskovic is considered a big talent at Tottenham, who are banking on having him as part of their first team plans in the near future. He did join the club after a pre-agreed transfer from Croatian side Hajduk Split. However, for the time being, he’s not seen as ready for their first team, given Thomas Frank already has formidable options in the defence.
The prospect of fighting for his place with Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven would have curtailed his chances of regular minutes. Hence, Viskovic chose to join Hamburg on loan for the season and has already made a telling mark over in Germany.
His performances in the Bundesliga have already earned him a call-up to the national side, and he is now eager to feature at the World Cup next year with Croatia. For now, that is his aim, as seen in some of his comments that appeared on Sportklub, which also asked him about his thoughts on a future move to Real Madrid.
Vuskovic said, “One goal is to help HSV as much as possible and qualify for the World Cup with Croatia and be at the World Cup. Those are my main goals for now. What will happen after that, I don’t know. I hope everything will be great like it has been so far, and that’s it.”
On Real Madrid, he continued, “Well… Real Madrid is Real Madrid, but every club you play for is an honour and a privilege. I don’t have a particular club other than Hajduk.”
Tottenham are not interested in any sale of the defender, at least not anytime soon. They are keeping close tabs on his performances in Germany, and have also pondered recalling him from his loan spell ahead of the January window.
Vuskovic does have big interest from within the Bundesliga, with Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig tracking his progress. However, for now and the near future, he will be seen as the future of Tottenham and their backline, as his mature performances have already made the club think of adding him to the main group.
As for Real Madrid, they are always interested in the best of talents from elsewhere, and that could draw their attention towards Vuskovioc at some stage. However, for now, they are not planning on any move for the Tottenham wonderkid, as they have other priorities, such as signing a senior defender in the near future.
