Manchester City rival Chelsea, Manchester United in Said El Mala chase
Manchester City are all set to battle Chelsea and Manchester United in their pursuit of Bundesliga attacking sensation Said El Mala.
FC Koln teenager Said El Mala has attracted a lot of interest from across Europe on the back of his impressive rise, and there could be a bidding war for his signature in the near future.
According to a report from SPORT1, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Chelsea could battle it out to sign the German youth international. A serious transfer race is building up for the 19-year-old winger.
Koln signed the teenager in the summer of 2024 from Viktoria Koln. He ended up staying at the German third-tier outfit for another season before moving to his new club last summer. His impressive performances for Viktoria had already resulted in a significant amount of interest from clubs in Europe.
Brighton even tried to strike a deal with FC Koln during the summer. The Seagulls saw a €20 million bid rejected, as they tried to get ahead of the competition. Since joining the Bundesliga outfit, he has been involved in seven league games, and he already has three goals and an assist.
The teenager’s impressive start is a sign of the massive potential he has. A host of top clubs are believed to be keeping tabs on the teenager and could soon make a move for him. Top European clubs have already contacted his parents and his agent.

More than ten clubs have spoken to his camp in recent weeks, and Manchester City are believed to be one of them. The Premier League giants are constantly on the lookout for young players with massive potential, and El Mala seems to fit the bill.
They see him as an ideal fit for their project, and their interest in him is already certified. While City have made their interest known, Manchester United and Chelsea are also in the mix.
United have recently shifted their focus towards signing young talents as they look to build for the long term. Meanwhile, the London club’s project centres around recruiting the best emerging players, and El Mala fits that profile perfectly. With some of Europe’s biggest clubs chasing his signature, it will be interesting to see where he ends up next.
