Dante started against Olympique Lyonnais at the weekend. It was a match that coincided with the OGC Nice captain’s 42nd birthday. In what is his final season, the Brazilian is having to manage his minutes more due to a knee issue that he is struggling to shake off. 

As Franck Haise stated earlier in the campaign, Dante will be judged on a game-by-game basis, and despite playing at the weekend, he will miss out against Celta Vigo in the UEFA Europa League tonight; he could even miss Nice’s game against Stade Rennais over the weekend. 

Hicham Boudaoui also misses out on this game through illness and could also miss the weekend game. Isak Jansson could also miss out on tonight’s match through illness.
