Tottenham line up €60 million move for Ivan Toney

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly look to sign 29-year-old English international Ivan Toney from Al-Ahli in a deal worth €60 million.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Ivan Toney is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The Lilywhites are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a striker next year. So, the 29-year-old Al-Ahli centre-forward has emerged as a target for the North London club.

The 2024/25 UEFA Europa League winners are willing to pay around €60 million to secure the Englishman’s services. However, Tottenham will face stiff competition from Chelsea for Toney’s signature, with the valuation worth €60 million also appealing to the West London outfit.

Ivan Toney and his time at Al-Ahli so far

Ivan Toney has been one of the most productive attackers in the Saudi Pro League since joining Al-Ahli from Brentford last year. The 29-year-old rose in prominence during his spell with Brentford, making considerable progress over the past half a decade. Meanwhile, he hit the ground running at Al-Ahli, becoming a pivotal figure for the Middle Eastern outfit.

The English international has been excellent thus far for Al-Ahli, making significant progress in the last 14 months. Toney has been hot off the blocks in the 2025/26 season, amassing nine goals and two assists in 12 appearances in all competitions. Meanwhile, his progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs, including Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

London calling?

Chelsea’s interest in Ivan Toney is perplexing. The Blues are scouring the market for a striker, even though they signed Joao Pedro and Liam Delap in the summer transfer window. Additionally, Marc Guehi will hope to convince Enzo Maresca that he has a long-term future at Chelsea. Nevertheless, Toney is a target for the West London outfit.

As for Tottenham, Dominic Solanke has struggled to make his mark since completing a big-money move from Bournemouth. Meanwhile, Richarlison faces an uncertain future at the North London club. So, Toney is a viable target for Tottenham, with the Lilywhites ready to pay €60 million to secure the 29-year-old Englishman’s services.

However, recent reports have claimed that Toney is happy at Al-Ahli, thus leaving his prospective suitors in a spot of bother. However, it will be interesting to see if a bid worth €60 million helps Tottenham take the English striker back to the Premier League.
