Marcus Rashford has a greater chance of sealing Barcelona deal, reason revealed

Manchester United graduate Marcus Rashford’s chances of securing a permanent move to Barcelona have significantly increased.

According to a report from Football Insider, Marcus Rashford’s chances of joining Barcelona on a permanent basis next summer have increased following the Catalan giants’ decision regarding Robert Lewandowski’s future.

Rashford ended up joining the Spanish club on loan in the summer. He has had an impressive start to life at his new club, having contributed towards eight goals in his 10 outings, which includes a match-winning brace against Newcastle United in the Champions League.

The Englishman’s consistent performances for Hansi Flick’s team have boosted his chances of securing a permanent move ahead of next season. The 27-year-old has not only managed to establish himself as an important part of the German manager’s team, but he has also revived his chances of being a starter for England at next summer’s World Cup.

While Marcus Rashford’s contract at Old Trafford runs until the summer of 2028, he has no future at his childhood club. He has been out of favour at Manchester United since Ruben Amorim’s arrival. Even if the Portuguese manager were to leave the club, Rashford is unlikely to play for them again, as his relationship with the club has completely broken down.

Rashford to join Barcelona permanently?

Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford’s performances have significantly improved the chances of Barcelona triggering the buy clause in his loan deal. With Robert Lewandowski now looking likely to leave Barcelona at the end of the season, the Catalan giants can certainly afford to sign him permanently.

The Blaugrana have decided against renewing the 37-year-old striker’s contract. While Lewandowski’s exit has no direct impact on Rashford’s future, it could free up significant wages to help them sign the Manchester United forward on a permanent basis.

Since the 27-year-old can feature out wide on the flanks as well as a number nine, it would make sense if they decide to secure his services permanently. However, for the move to materialise, Rashford will need to maintain his current level of performance until the end of the season.
