Manchester United rival Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Tottenham in Noah Atubolu chase

Manchester United, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and Tottenham are interested in signing highly rated German goalkeeper Noah Atubolu from SC Freiburg.

Noah Atubolu has done quite well for SC Freiburg, and a report from Graeme Bailey on TBR Football has claimed that Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on him.

The 23-year-old is regarded as one of the finest goalkeeping talents in the Bundesliga right now, and he has a bright future ahead of himself. He is looked at as the long-term successor of legendary goalkeeper Manuel Neuer for the national team.

It will be interesting to see which of the four Premier League clubs decides to come forward with an offer to sign Atubolu. Meanwhile, the youngster has previously been a target for other top Premier League clubs, including Arsenal.

Manchester United could use another quality goalkeeper at their disposal, and the 23-year-old would be the ideal acquisition. They have replaced Andre Onana with Senne Lammens. However, the Red devils should look to bring in an upgrade on Altay Bayindir as well.

Atubolu would be the ideal long-term investment for them. The SC Freiburg shot-stopper has the qualities to do well in the Premier League, and he could be a key player for the Red Devils. Emiliano Martinez has been linked with a move away from Aston Villa, and they will need to replace him if he moves on. Noah Atubolu could prove to be an excellent option for them.

Similarly, Newcastle United will also need to add more depth to the goalkeeping department, especially with Nick Pope in the twilight stages of his career. In additional, it is unclear if Aaron Ramsdale will complete a permanent move to Newcastle United next year.

Spurs keen on Noah Atubolu

As far as Tottenham are concerned, they are keen on landing upgrade on Guglielmo Vicario to compete at the highest level. The Italian shot-stopper has done reasonably well joining Tottenham, but he can be quite erratic. He has struggled to deal with set pieces and aerial balls as well.

Atubolu could thus prove to be an excellent alternative for Tottenham. He could compete with the Italian for the starting spot. The competition for places will help both players improve, and Tottenham need that.

It will be interesting to see if they can convince the Bundesliga outfit to sell the 23-year-old goalkeeper in the coming months. Atubolu has the tools to develop into a top class goalkeeper with the right guidance, and a regular football in England could bring out the best in him.
