Chelsea, Liverpool in transfer tussle to sign Robinho Junior
Chelsea and Liverpool are among the teams tracking Robinho Junior’s progress at Santos with a view to a future move for the teenager.
According to UOL Esporte via Sport Witness, Santos’ teenage sensation Robinho Junior is a player being tracked by the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool. The Premier League giants are not alone in the hunt for the 17-year-old son of Brazilian icon, with Santos not likely to concede a cheap sale.
Robinho Junior, the 17-year-old son of Brazilian icon Robinho, is making headlines in Brazil with his performances and interest from top clubs. Chelsea and Liverpool are apparently interested in signing the teenage sensation in the near future, as his potential transfer could only happen after he turns 18.
These are sides that are eager to enhance their future with some of the best prospects from around. Robinho has been playing regularly for Santos, and already has teams looking into signing him in the future, with the report focusing on Inter Milan’s interest in the teenager.
However, the prospect of joining one of Chelsea or Liverpool would be tempting enough for the player, provided those clubs can agree on a deal with Santos. The teenager will not be easily achieved owing to plenty of complications and power on Santos’s side.
Liverpool and Chelsea have been looking at young profiles to enhance their squads for the present and future, with the South American market one of their favourites to dig into. However, they must manage to find an agreement with the Brazilian side for the 17-year-old son of Brazilian icon Robinho.
Robinho Junior will be expensive
Rohinho Junior has a contract until December 2027, but Santos holds the option of extending the same by another two years once he turns 18 in December of this year. Moreover, he has a release clause in his deal worth a reported €100 million, which will make negotiations tricky.
Santos will have plenty of leeway in negotiations owing to the extension option they have, although they are not expected to achieve anything closer to that release clause. Hence, it’s a matter for the clubs to find a reasonable solution if they are seriously interested in the present climate, as Santos might be willing to accept a decent solution if presented by the likes of Liverpool or Chelsea.
