Marc Guiu would be open to returning to Sunderland on loan after his complicated recall back to Chelsea in the summer.

According to Give Me Sport, Marc Guiu is reportedly frustrated at the lack of minutes at Chelsea and would be open to returning to Sunderland. The striker was recalled amid a complicated situation at Stamford Bridge in the latter stages of the window, but the forward would be open to returning to the Stadium of Light.

Chelsea made some key changes to their forward line during the summer, which saw some established stars like Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson leave. In their place, the club signed Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, Alejandro Garnacho and Joao Pedro.

The latter is seen as the starting striker under Enzo Maresca, with Delap the perceived second choice behind the Brazilian. However, a serious injury near the end of the summer window saw Chelsea make some complicated decisions, including recalling Jackson right before he was about to take his medicals with Bayern Munich.

With Jackson persisting through to making his switch to Bayern Munich, Chelsea then recalled Marc Guiu from his loan spell at Sunderland. The Spanish striker is not seen as a key part of Maresca’s first team plans, and hence the club agreed a loan deal to let him gain valuable minutes and experience at the Stadium of Light.

Two appearances later, he was recalled to Chelsea, and so far, he has been frustrated with the lack of minutes here. However, after featuring off the bench against Liverpool right before the international break, meaning he can only play for two teams this season, which are now officially Chelsea and Sunderland.

Marc Guiu is open to a Sunderland return

The frustrated 19-year-old Chelsea whizkid is keen to play regular minutes, and the only way possible would be a return to Sunderland. His situation at Stamford Bridge is not expected to change anytime soon, and his presence would be further diminished once Delap returns from his injury.

Hence, Marc Guiu is reportedly open to returning to the Stadium of Light and is hoping that the Premier League newcomers are still interested in re-signing him. Sunderland have plenty of loan spots available in their squad, as bringing the frustrated Spaniard could be on the cards.
