Adi Hutter leaves AS Monaco, replacement lined up

As per AFP, Adi Hutter has been relieved of his duties as manager of AS Monaco. The Austrian arrived two seasons ago and led the Principality club to back-to-back finishes in Ligue 1, guiding them back into the UEFA Champions League.

Hutter has paid the price for Monaco’s middling form at the start of the season. The club sit fifth in Ligue 1, three points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain, however, by Hutter’s own admission, performances have been found wanting.

Even prior to the draw against OGC Nice on Sunday, Monaco were scouring the market for a replacement. However, that draw accelerated plans. After talks with Edin Terzic failed to conjure an agreement, Hutter took training on Wednesday, however, with Union Saint-Gilloise’s Sébastien Pocognoli incoming, the trigger has been pulled.

AFP understands that Hutter was relieved of his duties on Thursday. Pocognoli is set to replace him on the touchline imminently.
