Manchester United handed boost in Federico Valverde pursuit
Manchester United have received a significant boost in their pursuit of Real Madrid midfield mainstay Federico Valverde.
According to a report from Fichajes, Manchester United are keen on acquiring the services of Federico Valverde, and their pursuit has been boosted as his future at Real Madrid is no longer uncertain. While he has been a prominent figure in the team over the years, his recent performances haven’t been that great. As a result, Los Blancos are considering listening to offers for the South American star.
Valverde joined the Spanish giants back in 2016. He got promoted to their first team in 2018 and hasn’t looked back since. The 27-year-old has been one of the first names on their team sheet over the years.
While he has been a constant feature in Xabi Alonso’s team this season as well, the Uruguayan international hasn’t had the desired impact. His performance against Atletico Madrid was subject to a lot of criticism.
United want Federico Valverde
He still has four years left on his deal, but Real Madrid’s sporting directorate has now decided to listen to offers for the two-time Champions League winner. Manchester United have emerged as a potential destination for the South American sensation.
The Red Devils seek more quality in the centre of the park, and Valverde could significantly bolster their squad. He will bring a lot of experience, and his ability to feature anywhere across the pitch could do wonders for the English club.
With the Manchester-based giants looking to return to their glory days, a leader like the 27-year-old can certainly help their cause. Ruben Amorim’s team are willing to offer close to €100 million for the Real Madrid mainstay.
They could even look to offer Kobbie Mainoo as a part of the deal. While United are keen on his signature and Los Blancos are ready to listen to offers, a lot will depend on his performances going forward. Given how important Valverde has been to the team in white, they certainly won’t rush into any decision with regard to his future.
