Al-Nassr table €130 million bid to sign Phil Foden
Al-Nassr have reportedly tabled a €130 million bid for Manchester City star Phil Foden, with the Saudi Pro League side intent on landing a star from the Premier League.
According to Fichajes, Al-Nassr have reportedly offered €130 million to Manchester City for Phil Foden. The attacking midfielder could have emerged as a target for the Saudi Pro League side as they continue on their quest to sign a star player from the Premier League, but face challenges in signing someone like Foden.
Phil Foden has fallen off with his form since his starring performance for Manchester City in the 2023-24 season, when he was the star man to clinch the Premier League title. Last season was a time to forget for the attacker, but the entire team played badly.
He hasn’t had an ideal start to the new campaign, but there’s a belief that the 25-year-old homegrown star will rise to the occasion and make his presence felt once again. Now, Al-Nassr have reportedly tabled a bid for Foden in the region of €130 million and test Manchester City’s resolve.
From a PSR perspective, the €130 million will do wonders for Manchester City ahead of the next transfer window. However, Pep Guardiola considers him a key aspect of his team and will not give his green light for a sale, irrespective of the money on offer.
The Saudi Pro League side are looking at various players over the last few months, as Foden could be their next big target to contemplate. Testing Manchester City with an offer of this kind may not prove enough in the current climate, as the player himself might not give his approval to the move.
Al-Nassr keen on landing a top Premier League star
Al-Nassr have tried to bring in a top-name star from the Premier League, starting with Marc Cucurella, as Chelsea were uninterested in selling the left-back. They had contemplated other names like Luis Diaz and Joao Felix, while landing the latter.
Bruno Fernandes snubbed an approach, as per reports, as Foden is the latest to make it to their list. For now, the idea of signing the 25-year-old homegrown star from Manchester City may not work out, as Guardiola will likely instruct the club to keep hold of the England international.
