Manchester United, Real Madrid, PSG plot 2026 Bosman move for Dayot Upamecano

Manchester United, Real Madrid, and PSG are all plotting a Bosman move for Bayern Munich centre-back Dayot Upamecano.

Dayot Upamecano seems set to part ways with Bayern Munich at the end of the 2025/26 season, and with his contract running out, there is no shortage of interest in him. According to a report from Fichajes, Manchester United, PSG, and Real Madrid are all ready to snap him up on a free transfer next summer.

Upamecano made a name for himself at RB Leipzig before joining Bayern in the summer of 2021 in a deal worth €42.5 million. The 26-year-old French centre-back has only gone from strength to strength over the years. He has been a regular feature in their XI in recent seasons.

He made a total of 38 appearances last season, before a serious injury ruled him out of the final phase of the campaign. Upamecano has regained full fitness and has started both their league games this season. While he remains a key figure in the team, his future has become a big talking point because of his contract situation.

His current deal runs out at the end of the season. While Bayern have been trying to renew his deal, the negotiations have stalled because of the player’s massive wage demands. He wants a higher salary than the €16 million per season that he currently earns, and the German giants are unwilling to meet his demands.

European giants could battle it out for Upamecano

Upamecano could be potentially available for free next summer; as a result, some of the biggest clubs in the world are gearing up to make a move for him. Real Madrid, Manchester United and PSG are all interested in signing him for free next summer.

Los Blancos seek more quality at the back as David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger could both leave the club at the end of the season. Meanwhile, PSG are always looking to sign the best French players, and Upamecano is right up there. They are looking for an experienced central defender, and he could certainly help their cause.

Manchester United are also interested in the 26-year-old. They are trying to give Ruben Amorim everything he needs to succeed at the club. While they have a lot of options at the back, Upcamecano could be considered an upgrade on majority of the current options at the Portuguese manager’s disposal.

While Los Blancos tends to have the edge when it comes to free transfers, United and PSG have the financial strength to challenge the Spanish giants right until the end.
