Hugo Ekitike excited for Alexander Isak competition at Liverpool

Hugo Ekitike joined Liverpool earlier this summer, and he has been outstanding for them in the Premier League so far.

While Hugo Ekitike has been exceptional in his first few outings for Liverpool, the Premier League champions ended up signing Alexander Isak for a British transfer record fee on transfer deadline day.

Speaking to the media (h/t Sky Sports), the French striker insisted he has not been concerned about the arrival of Isak this summer. Ekitike has discussed how it is normal for top clubs to have multiple quality players at their disposal and that he is looking forward to playing alongside the Swedish international.

“When you play for the best teams, you inevitably expect to be competing with the best players,” Ekitike said when asked about competing with his new teammate.

“Isak is a player I used to watch, so seeing him arrive is a pleasure. It’s going to be tough competition, but I’m going to work hard to be good and perform well so that it’s just the coach’s problem.”

Liverpool must find a way to use Ekitike and Isak

Ekitike has shown that he is good enough to play for the biggest clubs in the Premier League, and his start in English football has been outstanding. He will certainly hope to hold on to a regular starting spot at Liverpool. It will be interesting to see if the Premier League champions can prepare a setup in which they will be able to accommodate both players.

Isak is a world-class player, and he has been the best striker in the Premier League over the last two seasons. The Swede was outstanding for Newcastle United last season, and he helped them secure Champions League qualification and win a domestic trophy.

Isak is a club-record signing for Liverpool, and he is expected to start regularly. Liverpool must look to find a way in order to accommodate both Isak and Ekitike. They are supreme talents with a bright future, and they cannot afford to keep them unhappy. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.

After struggling to score goals last season, the arrival of two top-class strikers will certainly be a huge blessing for Liverpool, and it will be interesting to see how the two players combine with each other. There is no doubt that Isak and Ekitike have the technical attributes to complement each other and put together a formidable attacking partnership.

Liverpool will be hoping to win the Premier League title once again, and they will look to do well in the UEFA Champions League as well after their ouster in the round of 16 last term. They will certainly hope that the two strikers can get along with each other and perform at a high level as a partnership.
