Borussia Dortmund, Juventus may return for Jadon Sancho next summer
Borussia Dortmund and Juventus could return for Jadon Sancho next summer, but they could be faced with the same problems they did this summer.
According to Football Insider, Jadon Sancho could continue to attract interest from Juventus and Borussia Dortmund next summer. He joined Aston Villa on loan, and Manchester United are considering triggering the contract extension option in his deal, which could bring about the same problems for the Euro giants as they had during the window.
Jadon Sancho held his ground in light of Manchester United trying to sell him and get the player off their books. The Red Devils faced numerous issues in finding the right suitor for the winger, owing to their asking price and his current wages, which proved difficult for teams like Borussia Dortmund and Juventus.
Borussia Dortmund were linked again with Sancho, but the financial aspects of any deal proved difficult for them to get a move over the line. The same problems were faced by Juventus, who were very advanced at some stage before a deal for the 25-year-old Manchester United flop stalled.
The two Euro giants are ready to return for Jadon Sancho next summer if the conditions around a deal change. As Manchester United struggled to find a right suitor for the 25-year-old, Aston Villa agreed a loan deal with the club for the winger.
The particulars of the deal suit Manchester United, as Aston Villa are reportedly covering 80% of Sancho’s wages as things stand. Moreover, they are also paying a loan fee, which may end up covering his full salary from a different perspective. Manchester United are also considering extending Sancho’s deal by triggering the club option in his contract, which will help them protect his value.
Interested clubs could face the same Sancho problems
Aston Villa are already thinking about making the signing permanent; however, they are faced with the prospect of competing with the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Juventus. However, the Euro giants did not make a move in the summer because of financial aspects, and they could face the same issues next summer if Manchester United ends up extending his contract.
So, they may have to find a way to compromise with Manchester United on the fee, as well as with Jadon Sancho for his wages. Any move to one of those European sides will depend on whether Sancho can make things work, or else, the player, as well as Manchester United, will find themselves in the same situation as they did during the summer with the winger’s future.
