Official | Nantes sign Junior Mwanga on loan from Strasbourg
Nantes have signed RC Strasbourg midfielder Junior Mwanga (22), both clubs have announced. The Girondins de Bordeaux Academy graduate won’t arrive short of pace, considering he has already played four games in full with Liam Rosenior’s Alsatians this season. The versatile France youth international predominantly plays as a defensive midfielder, but he’s more than capable of filling in at the back, an area of the pitch that urgently needed strengthening for Nantes. Mwanga was of interest to West Ham United.

Mwanga joined Strasbourg from Bordeaux in a €10m switch two years ago. He was allowed to spend the second half of the previous season on loan at Le Havre AC. The 22-year-old will wear the No. 80 jersey with Luis Castro’s Les Canaris. Mwanga is poised to make his debut for Nantes after the international break when the 8-time French champions play Nice at the Allianz Riviera.
