Ademola Lookman keen on Tottenham move despite Bayern Munich links
Tottenham receive a massive boost in their pursuit of Atalanta attacking mainstay Ademola Lookman, amidst interest from Bayern Munich.
According to Graeme Bailey via TBR, Tottenham are keen on acquiring the services of Ademola Lookman before the end of the transfer window, and they have received a significant boost as the player is interested in a move to North London.
While Bayern Munich are also in the mix, he appears to prefer a return to England. Atalanta would have liked to keep him, but the player is keen on moving away.
Lookman joined the Italian outfit in the summer of 2022 from RB Leipzig. He has featured in a total of 118 matches for Atalanta and has contributed towards 77 goals. He has been one of their standout performers over the years.
Lookman is pushing for a move away
While he prefers playing in behind a striker, the 27-year-old is capable enough to feature anywhere in attack. He still has two years left on his deal with the Italian club, but Lookman is keen on parting ways this summer.
With him pushing for a move, multiple top clubs have been keeping a close eye on the Nigerian international. Atalanta are reluctant to sell, but this is their final opportunity to raise significant funds from his departure. As a result, they are willing to let him leave if an interested club tables an offer of around £43 million.
The report suggests they are also open to a potential deal with an obligation to buy. Tottenham and Bayern Munich are two of the biggest clubs that are keen on signing him at this point. While Inter Milan were interested in him at the start of the summer, a move to the Italian giants didn’t go through.
A deadline day move to Tottenham?
Despite interest from Bayern, Tottenham seem to be in the driving seat at this stage. While speaking about Lookman’s future, Bailey said, “Lookman has emerged as an option for Tottenham, not dissimilar to their Xavi Simons deal. They were in the right place at the right time.
“I am told Lookman is keen, Tottenham are keen, and this has a chance ahead of Monday’s 7 pm deadline.”
Spurs seek more quality on the flanks, and Lookman’s versatility make him a great option for them. The player is keen on making the move to North London, and Daniel Levy’s team have made him a priority target for deadline day.
With Nicolas Jackon’s move to Bayern collapsing, the German giants are looking at Lookman as an ideal alternative. While they will provide serious competition to Spurs, the Premier League outfit are front-runner for now.
