Leeds United in transfer tussle to sign Karl Etta Eyong
Leeds United will reportedly compete with Levante, Rangers, and Swansea City to sign 21-year-old Cameroonian striker Karl Etta Eyong from La Liga club Villarreal this summer.
According to a report by Rafa Acevedo Toscano on El Chiringuito TV, Karl Etta Eyong is the subject of interest from Leeds United. The Whites are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing another striker in the summer transfer window despite completing bargain deals for Lukas Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
So, the 21-year-old Villarreal striker has emerged as a target for Leeds United. However, the newly promoted Premier League club may not land the African attacker, as he wants to remain in La Liga with the Yellow Submarine. The youngster has also been a target for Levante, Rangers, and Swansea City, with the latter failing with a big to secure his services.
Karl Etta Eyong is one of the most promising young prospects in La Liga. A native of Douala, the highly-rated striker spent most of his formative years in Cameroon, but he has been in Spain since January 2022. The young attacker joined Villarreal last summer, and he has had to bide his time at the Spanish club since then.
However, the 21-year-old has been hot off the gates this term, scoring in Villarreal’s 2-0 win over Real Oviedo in the 2025/26 La Liga season-opening fixture. Meanwhile, the Cameroonian striker’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs. Leeds United will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.
Leeds United’s interest in Karl Etta Eyong is understandable.
