Fenerbahce begin move to seal £10 million deal for Yves Bissouma, Galatasaray also keen
Turkish outfit Fenerbahce are reportedly considering a lowball bid to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma.
Fenerbahce will face competition from rivals Galatasaray for Yves Bissouma, as per a report by TEAMtalk. Fenerbahce are hoping to sign the player for £10 million, and it will be interesting to see if they can get the deal done, given Tottenham paid £25 million for the Mali international.
Bissouma’s performances have been quite underwhelming over the last 12 months. In addition, the Malian international has rubbed Thomas Frank the wrong way due to indiscipline. So, it is not surprising that Tottenham want to part ways with him in the summer transfer window.
Tottenham Hotspur need better players at their disposal if they want to fight for trophies this season. The North London outfit have secured Champions League qualification, and they will be up against top teams in Europe. A reliable defensive midfielder would be ideal for them. It will be interesting to see if they can sell the African midfielder and bring in an upgrade.
On the other hand, Fenerbahce need more quality and depth in the middle of the park. The 28-year-old has the physicality and technical attributes to do well in Turkey, and he will help them improve. Yves Bissouma will protect the back four and allow the creative players to operate with more freedom.
Bissouma would be a quality option
Similarly, Galatasaray would be a quality option for Yves Bissouma as well. He needs to join a club where he will play regularly. It will be interesting to see where he ends up. There is no doubt that the former Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder is good enough for Turkish football, and he could be a star for Fenerbahce or Galatasaray.
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to accept the substantial loss on their investment and let the player move on. There is no doubt that Bissouma is a quality player, but he has not been at his best for a while. This could be the ideal opportunity for Tottenham to cash in on him and bring in an upgrade.
Furthermore, the Malian midfielder is unlikely to get regular game time at the North London club this season, especially after the arrival of Joao Palhinha from Bayern Munich. It would be ideal for the player to move on as well.
