Everton line up €30 million move for Christantus Uche
Everton are reportedly readying a €30 million bid for Christantus Uche, which could tempt Getafe into considering a sale.
According to Fichajes, Everton are making themselves a big part of the Christantus Uche chase. The Toffees are readying a €30 million bid for the 22-year-old versatile attacker, which could tempt the Spanish giants into considering a sale of the attacker.
Everton have made some important signings this window. Most of their arrivals are attackers, with David Moyes emphasising their need to build from the front. They are in the market for more signings in the final third and may have lost out on Malick Fofana in the process, despite a move looking close at one point.
The Toffees also brought in Jack Grealish on loan, although the England international failed to help them in the opening game loss to Leeds United. Moyes wants to bring in more goals on his side and has been focused on a versatile attacker who could play multiple positions.
For instance, Everton had failed with a move for Tyler Dibling, and are yet to respond to Southampton’s counter-offer. Meanwhile, they are now planning to make an important bid for Getafe’s Christantus Uche, with the Toffees reportedly willing to fork out €30 million to test the Spanish side’s resolve.
There is interest from domestic sides like Real Sociedad, but should Everton come through with their €30 million bid, Getafe might sell the 22-year-old versatile attacker. The Nigerian also had Leeds United on the trail earlier, but the chase has gone somewhat cold over the last few weeks.
Christantus Uche could ponder Premier League switch
As things stand, Everton are the only side willing to fork out the €30 million that would appeal to Getafe to make the sale of the 22-year-old versatile attacker. Uche would be open to pondering a switch to the Premier League, and now he might have the chance to join the Merseysiders if the Toffees come through with their reported offer.
Christantus Uche will add something crucial to Moyes’s plans, with the attacker finishing last season with 11 goal contrubutions across all competitions. For Everton, he could be a big investment for the future, as has been the club’s plan with their pursuit of the likes of Dibling.
