AC Milan ahead of Fulham, Napoli in Rasmus Hojlund chase

AC Milan are considered favourites to land Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund ahead of rivals Napoli and London side Fulham.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, AC Milan are leading the race to sign Rasmus Hojlund despite interest from elsewhere. The unwanted Manchester United striker is close to the exit door, with the Rossoneri seen as the favourites to land him ahead of Napoli and Fulham.

Rasmus Hojlund stated a while back that he would be open to staying at Manchester United and fighting for his place. At the time, the club were looking for a striker and had been deep in talks to sign Benjamin Sesko, and now that the Slovenian has arrived, they have made their position clear on the Dane.

The 22-year-old Manchester United prospect was left out of the matchday squad to face Arsenal on the opening weekend of the Premier League, which is seen as a big enough indication of his future. An exit from Old Trafford looks imminent, with AC Milan trying the hardest to get an agreement in place.

It appears Rasmus Hojlund has already spoken to Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri, and that may have been a big factor in the chase. Now, the Rossoneri are viewed as the favourites to land the 22-year-old Manchester United prospect ahead of their rivals.

Manchester United want to sell Hojlund at the earliest, especially given the time remaining in the window. The big issue for Milan has centered around convincing the player to make the move, with Italy the likeliest destination should he depart. AC Milan are now the favourites ahead of domestic rivals Napoli and London outfit Fulham.

AC Milan are leading the Rasmus Hojlund chase

AC Milan have been in conversations to sign Hojlund for quite some time, and despite rival interest in the 22-year-old Manchester United prospect, they are the front-runners. Domestic rivals and Serie A champions Napoli recently entered the race following the serious injury sustained by Romelu Lukaku. They may view the 22-year-old as a readymade replacement for now, but when the Belgian returns, things could get complicated.

Fulham were also keen as they were preparing for the possibility of Rodrigo Muniz departing following links with Atalanta. However, they have held nothing more than exploratory talks for the 22-year-old Manchester United prospect, which may indicate they are not extremely keen on the Dane. As for Milan, they are expected to make an initial loan signing of Rasmus Hojlund, with the deal expected to include a substantial buy option.
