Kevin poised to join Fulham in €40-45 million deal
Fulham are closing in on Kevin from Shakhtar Donetsk in a €40-45 million deal that would be a club record for the Cottagers.
According to AS, Fulham are on the verge of striking an agreement with Shakhtar Donetsk for winger Kevin. The 2003-born South American winger has been in impressive form for the Ukrainians, as the Cottagers are set to agree a fee in the region of €40-45 million that would be a club record for the Londoners.
Marco Silva has called for signings to be made by the club following a quiet summer window so far. With not many days left before the window slams shut, the Portuguese boss is eager to improve certain areas of his squad.
Silva had wanted to keep most of his players, and the club have done a good job at that. However, there has been a departure of Willian for the second time in his Fulham career, and Silva wants Kevin from Shakhtar Donetsk to replace the veteran Brazilian.
Fulham have already seen a bid rejected by Shakhtar Donetsk in the region of €30 million, as the Ukrainian club had been demanding €50 million. Fabrizio Romano had confirmed the asking price, but it appears the Eastern European side are ready to lower their valuation.
Fulham had also made a record bid for the Brazilian, which may fall into the €40-45 million that Shakhtar are demanding now. Should the Cottagers find an agreement with the Ukrainian side, Kevin would be a record arrival, surpassing what the club paid for Emile Smith-Rowe last season.
Kevin is a key signing for Fulham
The Brazilian has had an electric start to the new season, scoring four times and assisting twice in three Europa League qualifying games. Last season, he had a tally of nine goals and four assists, and he has nearly halved the statistics in only three games this term. He will be a key signing for Fulham, as Silva wants difference makers on the wings, particularly on the left-hand side.
As for Shakhtar, they had signed the 2003-born South American winger for €12 million from Palmeiras in January 2024, and if they can sell him for €40-45 million, it would represent a healthy profit on the investment. As for Fulham, they will hope the Brazilian is not the last of their signings this summer, as Silva will want more faces through the door before the transfer deadline.
