Manchester City prepare €150 million kitty to sign Rodrygo Goes and Gianluigi Donnarumma

Manchester City are reportedly prepared to spend around €150 million to sign Rodrygo Goes and Gianluigi Donnarumma this summer.

According to Fichajes, Manchester City could spring to life in the transfer market as they prepare a €150 million kitty for two potential superstars. Pep Guardiola is keen to land Rodrygo Goes and Gianluigi Donnarumma, as there are changes planned at the Etihad.

Gianluigi Donnarumma continues to interest Manchester City

Manchester City signed James Trafford from Burnley a few weeks ago, and at the time, it was reported that the English keeper would replace Stefan Ortega. In the days after, there have been heavy reports linking Ederson Moraes with a move away from the club, as Pep Guardiola could lose both his keepers in the same window.

While signing another keeper was not in Guardiola’s plans initially, the potential availability of Gianluigi Donnarumma has piqued his attention. The PSG man was integral to the French side last season as they clinched the treble, including the Champions League.

Manchester City have stepped up their interest in the keeper, with the deal likely to advance once Ederson’s move away becomes clearer. Guardiola’s side are prepared to pay €50 million to test PSG’s resolve, as the Parisians might be satisfied with the price being offered.

Donnarumma had reportedly agreed on personal terms with Manchester City, and if those stories were true, he could have held talks in the background. Overall, he would be a top addition to Guardiola’s squad, and likely to be installed as their new No.1 despite the arrival of Trafford.

Manchester City keen on Rodrygo Goes

The bigger chunk of the €150 million kitty is reserved for Rodrygo Goes, with reports from a few days ago indicating that Manchester City are prepared to pay €100 million. Guardiola seeks an explosive attacker on his side, as he anticipates few departures even after Jack Grealish’s loan move to Everton.

There’s competition in place for Rodrygo, but Manchester City can position themselves well if they are willing to pay as much as €100 million, as well as the required wages. The club are close to selling Savinho, and his departure might be the real trigger to enter the market for someone like the Real Madrid star.

Rodrygo’s future at Real Madrid has been called into question as new boss Xabi Alonso may not plan the upcoming season with the Brazilian in mind. The Spanish coach might end up demanding new faces in other positions, such as central midfield and the defence, as Florentino Perez could use the funds from the Rodrygo sale to add new options.
