Liverpool plotting a big-money move for a winger after Alexander Isak transfer

Liverpool are planning on landing a high-profile winger once they complete the signing of Alexander Isak, with Arne Slot’s attacking setup a bit short at the moment.

According to Daveokop, Liverpool are planning on multiple attacking signings, including a striker and a winger. The idea right now is to bring in a high-profile winger once they wrap up the long-drawn-out signing of Alexander Isak, with a few options being mentioned.

Liverpool have taken the opportunity in the market to make fundamental changes to their squad after the title-winning season. Arne Slot decided to bring in key attackers Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz, with the latter viewed as a replacement for the late Diogo Jota.

There have been significant sales in the attacking department as Luis Diaz joined Bayern Munich while Darwin Nunez was shipped off to Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia. The club have generated ample funds from sales, which does allow them further room in the transfer market to make necessary signings.

They are still keen on landing Alexander Isak, who has refused to play for Newcastle United moving forward. The Swede remains the primary attacking target for Arne Slot’s side, who are biding their time before making a second bid, after the Magpies rejected an initial offer from Liverpool.

Isak is seen as a fundamental inclusion to Arne Slot’s plans as they aim to retain the Premier League title and go the distance in the Champions League. While they remain hopeful of wrapping up the signing of the Swede before the window shuts, Liverpool are then planning on signing a high-profile winger.

Liverpool are keen on a new winger

Liverpool have sold Diaz and are now close to offloading Ben Doak, leaving Federico Chiesa and Rio Ngumoha as one of the only few options as backup. Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah are expected to feature regularly, but the Merseysiders are now thinking about bringing in a high-profile winger, probably for the left-hand side of the pitch.

There are links to Rodrygo Goes, while Breadley Barcola was also on their list earlier. The former is possibly the most achievable target, but Liverpool faces intense competition from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City for the Brazilian.
