Leeds United among clubs to run rule over Nathan Tella
Leeds United may look to sign 26-year-old Nigerian international Nathan Tella from Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Nathan Tella is the subject of interest from Leeds United. The Whites are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a wide attacker in the summer transfer window. So, the 26-year-old Bayer Leverkusen utility man has emerged as a target for the newly promoted Premier League club.
The West Yorkshire outfit recently sent scouts to watch the Stevenage-born wide player in Bayer Leverkusen’s friendly against Chelsea earlier this week. However, Leeds United will face stiff competition from Brentford, Brighton & Hove Albion, Burnley, and Nottingham Forest for Tella’s signature in the summer transfer window.
Nathan Tella and a career-changing move
Nathan Tella has established himself as one of the most underrated players in the Bundesliga since joining Bayer Leverkusen from Southampton in August 2023. The former Arsenal youth prospect went from competing with relegation-battling clubs to winning the Bundesliga title, lifting the coveted trophy in the 2023/24 season.
The 26-year-old has been a dependable performer on the flanks for Burnley, chipping in with ten goals and 11 assists in 79 appearances thus far for Bayer Leverkusen. Meanwhile, the Nigerian international winger’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs. Leeds United will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.
Premier League return on the horizon?
Leeds United’s interest in Nathan Tella is understandable. The Whites are scouring the market for a wide attacker this summer, even though Daniel James, Wilfried Gnonto, and Largie Ramazani were impressive in the 2024/25 season. However, with Daniel Farke demanding more firepower in the final third, Leeds United must sign a new winger.
Several candidates, including Jonathan Rowe, have emerged on Leeds United’s radar, with Tella also a viable target. The Stevenage-born wide attacker already has experience of playing in the Premier League, and his involvement with Bayer Leverkusen should serve Leeds United well.
