Everton advancing in talks to sign Jack Grealish
Everton are advancing in talks with Manchester City for the signing of Jack Grealish on a loan deal, with the attacker open to the move.
According to Fabrizio Romano via Paul Joyce, Everton are making progress in talks with Manchester City for Jack Grealish. The English attacker could find himself out of Pep Guardiola’s plans, and has seemingly opened the doors to join the Toffees, who are advancing in talks over a loan move.
Jack Grealish was widely expected to leave Manchester City this summer, with his future clearly up in the air at the Etihad. Over the last two seasons, Pep Guardiola has limited the use of the versatile attacker, and their output since January and this summer places the attacker’s future in jeopardy.
Manchester City’s decision to omit Grealish from their Club World Cup squad was probably the biggest indication of their plans. A host of Premier League teams were keen on the attacker, with Everton now seemingly closer than others in the pursuit.
Everton have held an interest for a while, and it appears they are making inroads in the chase. Their desire to recruit a new attacker who could operate from the left-hand side, and their subsequent failure to land Malick Fofana, may have forced them to accelerate the pursuit of the 29-year-old Premier League winner from Manchester City.
Everton had opened talks with Manchester City for Grealish, and it appears they are advancing in the pursuit. The Toffees want to take the 29-year-old Premier League winner on loan for the upcoming season, with Grealish open to the idea of playing in Merseyside.
Everton can reinvigorate Jack Grealish
David Moyes can certainly help a player of Grealish’s calibre and revive his confidence. At Everton, there’s a potential space to be the main man for the attack, and the 29-year-old had occupied such a role back when he was with Aston Villa. Everton are eager to bring Grealish and Tyler Dibling, as Moyes is keen to bolster his attack in the best way possible.
As for Grealish, the switch to Everton might not be as big as some other teams, but he gets the chance to reinvent himself in a significant way. Moreover, with the World Cup on the horizon, Thomas Tuchel is keeping close tabs on several players, including the 29-year-old Premier League winner, and with regular game time, he does have a chance to be on that plane to the USA.
