Nicolas Jackson open to joining Newcastle United or Aston Villa this summer
Nicolas Jackson would be open to the prospect of joining either Aston Villa or Newcastle United as his Chelsea future looks to be over.
According to TBR, Nicolas Jackson is set to evaluate his options ahead of a potential exit from Chelsea, with the striker being open to joining either Newcastle United or Aston Villa. Both teams are looking at the Senegal international in case an opportunity comes about, with the Magpies more in need than Unai Emery’s side.
The striker market continues to dominate this transfer window, as there are plenty more moves expected in the coming period. Alexander Isak is at the forefront of these sagas, with the Swede angling for an exit from Newcastle United, who themselves are eager to land a quality addition as well as Isak’s replacement.
It’s believed that only when Newcastle United land their desired target to replace the Swede will Liverpool get their chance to make another big offer to land Isak. So far, the Magpies have suffered setbacks in multiple pursuits, with Manchester United dealing the latest blow by signing Benjamin Sesko.
Newcastle United are in the mix for Nicolas Jackson, who seems destined to leave Chelsea this summer. The Magpies have been in contact with their counterparts for the Senegalese striker, with the report suggesting it might take £50-60 million to get the deal over the line, despite the Blues demanding around £70 million earlier.
Yoanne Wissa is also keen to join Newcastle United, but the DR Congo and Brentford star is seen more as an addition or replacement for Callum Wilson rather than Isak. Newcastle are hoping to sign Jackson for around that £60 million mark, and should they make the move, then the pathway for Isak to join Liverpool could get clearer.
Aston Villa could consider Nicolas Jackson
Jackson, for his part, is reportedly open to exploring a move to Newcastle United or even Aston Villa, although the former are closer than the latter. Unai Emery’s side might only angle a move for the £50-60 million-rated Chelsea ace if they end up losing Ollie Watkins, who was linked to Manchester United before the Sesko agreement.
Villa have already tied up a deal for Evan Guessand, who represents an additional forward option for Emery’s side. Hence, they might only go for Jackson in the event of Watkins leaving, which at the moment might carry some doubts. However, Jackson is destined to depart Chelsea, which will further open up the striker’s market for more dominoes to fall in place.
