Manchester United may look to sign 20-year-old Italian centre-back Pietro Comuzzo from Serie A club Fiorentina in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Italian outlet Quotidiano Sportivo, Pietro Comuzzo is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils are keen on reinforcing their defensive unit by signing a centre-back in the summer transfer window. So, the 20-year-old Fiorentina prospect has emerged as a target for them.

The struggling Premier League giants have scouted the highly-rated centre-back this week, with Fiorentina facing Nottingham Forest in a friendly at City Ground. However, Manchester United will face stiff competition from Bournemouth and Sunderland, with the two Premier League clubs monitoring the youngster’s performance.

Pietro Comuzzo has established himself as one of the best young prospects in Serie A since breaking into the first-team squad at Fiorentina. A native of San Daniele del Friuli, the 20-year-old spent his formative years in Italy, passing through the academies at Pordenone FC and Udinese before graduating from the youth division at Fiorentina.

The Italian defensive prospect has already turned out 50 times thus far for Fiorentina while chipping in with one goal.
