Fulham have failed with a bid for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Kevin, with the Ukrainian side proposing a counter with a significantly higher fee.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Fulham have failed with a €30 million bid for Brazilian winger Kevin. Shakhtar Donetsk turned down the proposal from the Cottagers as the Ukrainian side are eager to fetch significantly more for the 22-year-old.

Brazilian winger Kevin has been steadily growing his profile since joining Shakhtar Donetsk in 2023. The Ukrainian giants are well known for bringing in Brazilian players to the club to develop them into top stars for the future, having produced some notable names such as Willian and Fred in the past.

Now, they may have another talent on their hands in Kevin, having signed him from Palmeiras in 2023. The winger has been developing steadily with the club, and he is now already attracting significant interest in the market, as Fulham are interested in a big way.

Fulham have failed with a €30 million offer for the winger, which excluded add-ons. Fabrizio Romano stated that the total package would have come close to €40 million if the bonuses were included, as Shakhtar are demanding significantly more for the player who contributed to 13 goals last season.

Shakhtar have responded with a demand for a fee that is significantly more than what Fulham have offered. Now, it is about the Cottagers returning with an improved bid, as they might even look at alternatives, as there are several names on their list already.

Fulham chase a new left-winger

Fulham have prioritised signing a new left-winger this summer, and a few targets from within the Premier League have already been linked. Reiss Nelson is thought to be a key target, as there are talks ongoing with Arsenal over a deal, while they are also interested in Arsenal utility man Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Raheem Sterling was also linked recently, but there are doubts whether the Cottagers are serious about the Chelsea winger and if the demands laid out for the transfer are acceptable. Hence, they might have pivoted to Kevin as an alternative. But considering Shakhtar Donetsk’s asking price, the deal might have already landed into complications.
