Everton open talks to sign Jack Grealish from Manchester City

David Moyes’ Everton have opened talks to sign Manchester City outcast Jack Grealish on loan this summer.

According to a report from The Athletic, Everton are keen on acquiring the services of Jack Grealish as David Moyes looks to add more firepower to his attack. The Toffees have already opened talks with Manchester City to get a deal over the line.

Grealish came up the ranks and made a name for himself while playing for Aston Villa before joining City in a record-breaking deal worth £100 million in the summer of 2021. While he was an integral part of their first team in the initial years and helped them win numerous titles, things have gone downhill for him in the recent past.

The 29-year-old winger has gone down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola, and he only started seven Premier League games last season. With him no longer an important part of the Spanish manager’s plans, City are working hard to get him off their books.

They would prefer a permanent departure, but that seems unlikely because of his massive wages. They can’t afford to pay him off and will have to settle for an initial loan deal. Everton have emerged as a potential destination for the English international.

The Toffees are working hard to sign Tyler Dibling, but they are also looking to add Grealish to their squad as they prepare for the start of a new era at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. Moyes feels the City star could be the leader of their attack next season.

Everton pushing hard to sign Grealish

While negotiations to sign him could be very complicated, the Toffees have already made an approach, and they are in talks with Guardiola’s team. Meanwhile, another report from TBR suggests the Merseyside club are pushing very hard to secure his services on a temporary basis.

They are really keen on having him in their squad and pushing very hard to strike a deal with City. While Grealish has accepted the fact that he no longer has a future at the Manchester-based club, it will be interesting to see if he finds the Everton project exciting enough.

Since he doesn’t really have many options to play with and there is a World Cup coming up, he could seriously consider joining the Toffees as it will help him try and regain a spot in the England national team.
