Palestinian striker leaves Charleroi after loan spell with Aberdeen to join Egyptian giants Zamalek

Charleroi have confirmed that Palestinian striker Oday Dabbagh has left the club to join Egyptian giants Zamalek. The 26-year-old striker spent half of last season on loan with Scottish side Aberdeen and it was clear that, on his return, he was not seen as part of Rik De Mil’s plans for the upcoming 2025/2026 Pro League season.

Dabbagh joined the side from Portuguese club Arouca in 2023, having scored 11 goals in just 21 games for the latter. Sadly, he was unable to replicate that form for the Zebras. During his first season he scored six goals in 29 games, with just one in 15 the following year. He also had a falling out with the clubs ultras which led to his departure to Scotland. While with Aberdeen, he scored four goals in 16 games, as well as providing one assist. Dabbagh was also part of the Aberdeen side that beat Celtic to win the Scottish cup.

During the most recent Asian cup, Dabbagh was in great form for his national team. The forward scored twice as Palestine beat Hong Kong 3-0 to qualify for the knock-out rounds. There they faced a strong Qatar side who won 2-1, but Dabbagh scored during that game as well. Qatar would go on to win the competition.
