Tottenham Hotspur eyeing Rodrygo Goes as Son Heung-min replacement

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to make an effort to convince Rodrygo Goes to make the move as a replacement for Son Heung-min.

According to AS via Sport Witness, Tottenham are ready to make a big effort to convince Rodrygo Goes to make the move this summer. Daniel Levy wants the Brazilian international to replace their long-serving captain Son Heung-min, who is about to leave the club.

Tottenham are still active in the market to reinforce their squad with the right players to give Thomas Frank every chance of building a competitive team. One of the key areas this summer has been the attacking side, with Mohammed Kudus arriving, while there are reports of further incomings.

Over the last few days, there have been rumours of a potential exit for skipper Son Heung-min, with the South Korean announcing his intention to depart. Replacing the long-serving star would prove tricky for Tottenham, as they might decide on a suitable option in the coming period.

Daniel Levy will undoubtedly want a top name in the South Korean’s place, with Rodrygo Goes seen as their priority target. With Son’s impending departure, Spurs are expected to bank a sizeable fee, as well as free up his wages, which the report insists is around the €11 million a year mark.

Spurs had held talks for the player earlier, with Rodrygo’s camp are demanding a €10 million a year salary, while Real Madrid want at least €90 million to sell the winger. New manager Xabi Alonso may not place too much importance on the 24-year-old ahead of the new season, as the Brazilian might struggle to break into the Spaniard’s side regularly, which has further fueled speculation about a sale this summer.

Tottenham are ready to make an effort for Rodrygo

Rodrygo had ruled out a move to Tottenham earlier, which could see Levy make another concerted effort to land the €90 million-rated Real Madrid star. They may have to pitch a considerable project to tempt the Brazilian into moving, as he was previously keen to join a bigger club.

As per some recent reports, key suitors Arsenal and Liverpool have ruled out a move for Rodrygo, which effectively leaves Tottenham as the only possible escape route for the winger. However, with plenty of time still left in the window, those teams might return with fresh interest in the 24-year-old, although Spurs are now expected to make a big push to sign the €90 million-rated Real Madrid star.
