Bruno Fernandes wants Manchester United stay after Al-Nassr approach

Bruno Fernandes has no interest in leaving Manchester United following a fresh approach from Saudi Arabia through Al-Nassr.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Bruno Fernandes does not want to leave Manchester United in the ongoing summer window. The Portuguese midfielder was the subject of a fresh approach from Saudi Arabia, this time from Al-Nassr, as he may want to stay at Old Trafford for another season at the very least.

Manchester United’s summer window began with intense speculation around Bruno Fernandes’s future. As last season ended in defeat at the Europa League final, the club took on a mini tour of Asia right after, as Al-Hilal made their intentions known to sign the Red Devils’ skipper.

Al-Hilal were confident of luring the Manchester United star on a lucrative contract, while they were prepared to pay a healthy fee to the club. However, the Saudi Pro League giants were pushing for a quick decision from Fernandes as they wanted to include him in their Club World Cup squad.

Fernandes decided to continue with Manchester United, and it appeared the idea of a move to the Middle East was over, at least for this summer. Now, fellow Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr made an unofficial approach to sign Fernandes as per Ben Jacobs, but the answer has been the same from the Red Devils’ skipper.

Fernandes wants to continue at Manchester United, at least for another season, as per Jacobs, and wants to keep playing in Europe. The Red Devils hierarchy would have been somewhat relieved by this decision as they may not be keen to lose their captain at this stage of the transfer window, although they did appear open to a sale earlier in the summer.

Bruno Fernandes is key for Manchester United

Ruben Amorim will be relieved about Fernandes staying put at Manchester United, as he has already made plans on how the team would play next season. The skipper, who was their best performer last season, remains a key figure behind the scenes as well as on the pitch.

There’s the element of achieving a top fee from the Saudi Pro League for their star player, which would have helped them massively in adding to their budget for the window. However, the idea of losing Fernandes now would be catastrophic, especially given how difficult the window has been in some regard for the club, while it would have seriously hampered Amorim’s plans for the upcoming season.
