Real Betis devise plan to sign Antony
Real Betis are formulating a new plan to convince Manchester United to sell winger Antony, as there might be an improvement from their previous offer.
According to Fichajes, Real Betis are formulating a new plan to sign Antony as fresh talks with Manchester United could commence soon. The Andalusian club are banking on the player’s desire to re-join them following a successful loan in the second half of last season, as Real Betis might make an improved offer from the one earlier in the window.
Antony is already categorised as a flop at Manchester United, with his future no longer with the club. Ruben Amorim does not bank on the Brazilian moving forward, with the player part of a significant list of high-profile players the club wants to get rid of.
Antony had a resurgent loan spell at Real Betis in the second half of last season, which produced 14 goal contributions across all competitions. The Spanish side had been keen to bring him back and even engaged in talks with Manchester United to find a formula.
Earlier reports stated Real Betis were angling for another loan move, but that has now been quashed by the Spanish side. Manchester United, for their part, are eager to sell him permanently and have reportedly rejected an offer from Betis, which would have allowed the La Liga side to acquire 50% of his rights.
Real Betis are now planning a new approach with similar percentages in mind for around €25 million, with add-ons separate. Whether Manchester United are open to the idea remains to be seen, but with the player keen on a return to Seville, they might be inclined to take Real Betis seriously this time around.
Antony wants Real Betis’ return
Antony has already rejected approaches from Brazilian teams, while there have been rumours of other clubs being keen on the attacker. The resurgent Manchester United misfit also has Saudi Arabian interest, with a recent report stating Al-Nassr had made an approach.
The priority for Antony is to play regularly in the seaosn ahead to give himself the best chance to be part of Brazil’s squad for the World Cup next year. Real Betis are clearly offering him that starring role, although they have the big task of convincing Manchester United to do a deal.
